I Love It When a Plan Comes Together

Happy Superbowl Sunday to everyone! Things are shaping up and coming into focus. After speaking to some of my farmers later today I will have a better time frame on the first deliveries. I have decided how the selection of goods will go. Prices should run between $35 and $150 per delivery. Don't let the latter scare you. The break down will go as follows:

Small mixed fresh veggies, small mixed fresh fruit
Large mixed fresh veggies, large mixed half and half

Small mixed meal packs (fresh veggies and a choice of local beef, pork, or fresh Gulf seafood)
Large mixed meal packs (fresh veggies, fresh fruit, farm fresh local eggs, beef, pork, and Gulf seafood)

Weekend grillers:  Family pack ( Choice of two proteins and three veggies)
                            Party pack ( custom order from all available produce and protein)

Party and catering services are in the works as well!

First Delivery Areas

Hello everyone. Due to response, it looks like the first areas to get home deliveries will be parts of Germantown. I am working on getting set up for a drive up service in other neighborhoods. Stay tuned.

      Hello all. One of my farmers emailed a list of what he is planting. I am also planting a small plot in my yard. I'm considering peppers (hot), greens, squash and tomatoes. Here's what I will be getting from Blake Farms in Red Banks, MS:

We are planning on growing the following: carrots, celery, cabbage, lettuce romaine and Simpson variety, spinach, tomatoes (Brandywine, beefsteak, roma, yellow jubilee), strawberries chandler variety, bell peppers (red, yellow, orange, green), Chile peppers, jalapeño, sweet corn (silver queen, peaches and cream), egg plant, cucumber, squash, radishes, onions, shallots, mustard and collard greens and some spring turnips.

Calling All Backyard Farmers

     As you all know, the time for prepping gardens is now and planting is just around the corner. While we are a few months away from full blown produce availability, berry season is just around the corner. There are also several greenhouse veggies that will be ready soon. I will be listing the farmers I am working with in the next few days; along with what they have available.
   
     Now the reason for this postings title. If you know of anyone that has a small to medium produce garden, let them know about us. We can help them turn their green thumb into some real green. We are also looking for egg producers. Beef, poultry, pork and seafood are also in the plans. Stay tuned.

Almost time

     Alright dear followers. It is almost time to get this thing going. I'm tweaking how it's all gonna work, but I am in touch with local farmers every day. They all are acting a little cautious, but I can sense the excitement behind their trepidation. So, check in every day as things get really rolling. Remember. Eat healthy. Eat local.
