Some produce we will be offering

Hello all. One of my farmers emailed a list of what he is planting. I am also planting a small plot in my yard. I'm considering peppers (hot), greens, squash and tomatoes. Here's what I will be getting from Blake Farms in Red Banks, MS:

We are planning on growing the following: carrots, celery, cabbage, lettuce romaine and Simpson variety, spinach, tomatoes (Brandywine, beefsteak, roma, yellow jubilee), strawberries chandler variety, bell peppers (red, yellow, orange, green), Chile peppers, jalapeƱo, sweet corn (silver queen, peaches and cream), egg plant, cucumber, squash, radishes, onions, shallots, mustard and collard greens and some spring turnips.

Much more to come!

Calling All Backyard Farmers

As you all know, the time for prepping gardens is now and planting is just around the corner. While we are a few months away from full blown produce availability, berry season is just around the corner. There are also several greenhouse veggies that will be ready soon. I will be listing the farmers I am working with in the next few days; along with what they have available.

Now the reason for this postings title. If you know of anyone that has a small to medium produce garden, let them know about us. We can help them turn their green thumb into some real green. We are also looking for egg producers. Beef, poultry, pork and seafood are also in the plans. Stay tuned.

Almost time

Alright dear followers. It is almost time to get this thing going. I'm tweaking how it's all gonna work, but I am in touch with local farmers every day. They all are acting a little cautious, but I can sense the excitement behind their trepidation. So, check in every day as things get really rolling. Remember. Eat healthy. Eat local.
